About The Position

Carrier is looking for 2nd Shift Production Maintenance Mechanics who are ready to take full ownership of the machinery and equipment that keeps our Indianapolis furnace plant running. In this role, you will be responsible for the reliability of our systems, working under general supervision to modify, fabricate, set up, and adjust a wide variety of mechanical systems. Being flexible and adaptable is essential for this role; you must be able to switch tasks as priorities change to minimize equipment downtime. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED AND successfully complete (70% or higher) the applicable Industrial Assessment Test OR hold a current Journeyman's Card OR successfully completed a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Program for machine repair
  • 2+ years of experience in machinery maintenance
  • Willing and able to complete the Carrier safety programs successfully
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsoring available.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform operations involving use of industrial machine tools

Responsibilities

  • Keep the machines and equipment in efficient operating conditions
  • Inspect machines and perform preventive maintenance
  • Dismantle, move and repair industrial machinery and equipment
  • Conduct modification, fabrication, and installation of industrial machinery and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning industrial machinery and equipment
  • Follow site safety rules and processes i.e., in the associate handbook, cardinal rule cards, job specific standard work and relevant EHS training documents
