About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance tasks at a property management company. This role requires a strong understanding of various maintenance systems, compliance with safety regulations, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. The technician will also be on-call for night and weekend duties as needed.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of property maintenance
• Supervision experience
• General knowledge of the real estate management business
• Thorough familiarity with electricity, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, appliances, and construction
• Excellent safety habits
• Good human relations skills and the ability to work well with others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Hand tools suitable for maintenance-related work

Responsibilities

• Maintain thorough knowledge and written record of power, water and gas turnoffs, cleanout trap, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, back checks, valves, sprinkler systems, irrigation systems, etc.
• Maintain a working knowledge of how the systems on each property operate and instruct the maintenance staff on these systems.
• Oversee all aspects of property maintenance including grounds, custodial, preventative, corrective, deferred and emergency maintenance.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all fair housing laws, its policies and practices and be fair and consistent in upholding these and all company policies.
• Comply with all OSHA regulations and any applicable laws regarding health, safety, lead based paint, asbestos and environment.
