The PM Technician is responsible for carrying out regular preventative maintenance tasks on plant and equipment to mitigate downtime during scheduled operation. This includes lubrication (grease & oil), filter replacement (air & lubricant), and completion of equipment check lists. The technician will also carry out routine checks on plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with all necessary safety measures to prevent accidents, injuries, or damage to facility equipment or materials. The role involves diagnosing and repairing or replacing worn parts in machines and equipment, operating powered industrial trucks, and ensuring the work environment is free of hazardous objects and substances. The technician may be required to guide or assist external technicians or subcontractors with compressors, HVAC equipment, and boilers. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, including the possibility of working on Saturdays, Sundays, and rotating shifts. Daily data entry into eMaint regarding work activities, procurement, parts consumed, and time taken is required. The PM Technician is expected to document new PMs or edit current procedures in eMaint regularly. Continuous improvement techniques should be utilized to enhance PM and equipment performance. In cases of major mechanical or electrical failure, the technician must report to the department manager and maintain good communication with the technical team and management.
