About the position

The Spartanburg operation is a state-of-the-art coffee roasting and pod packaging facility in addition to hosting a full beverage distribution center. Spartanburg is the largest KDRP manufacturing and distribution location. The site will operate on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); leverage the principles of Lean manufacturing. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have accountability to both a functional business unit in addition to the full site operation. The site will run on first-in-class enterprise IT and manufacturing execution systems with highly automated processing, packaging, and material movement equipment. The Maintenance Technician II at Keurig Dr Pepper will be responsible for facilitation and leadership to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve process and packaging equipment, to maximize production and maintain Keurig Dr Pepper's high standards in safety and quality. This role will also be engaged in improving maintenance procedures and manufacturing processes for the improvement of safety, quality, delivery, cost and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems on equipment.
  • Demonstrate troubleshooting capabilities on control systems, servo drives, motors, HMIs, and PLCs on complex high speed packaging lines.
  • Review documentation for maintenance activity using the maintenance database.
  • Communicate maintenance issues to appropriate employees (e.g., other maintenance techs, operators, engineers, supervisors, etc.).
  • Utilize the maintenance inventory system.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives in assigned areas by analyzing equipment maintenance history.
  • Identify significant causes of waste and coordinate with appropriate employees to develop root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Assist in day-to-day support of operators for adjustments, setups, and change overs.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians as required.
  • Work with engineers and vendors on special projects.
  • Use machine tools, welding equipment, and measuring devices to modify machinery as needed.
  • Assist in the training and coaching others on best practices.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures and demonstrate safe behaviors at all times.
  • Actively engage in the coaching of Safety program(s).
  • Maintain a healthful and safe environment and report any violations/discrepancies/injuries/incidents.
  • Understand, comply with, and coach quality systems, metrics, and policies.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) / Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) events.
  • Cooperate and plan with other shifts to address handoff issues.
  • Escalate line issues/opportunities using the Daily Management System (DMS) escalation process.
  • Coach team members on standard maintenance work and procedures.
  • Gather data on equipment issues to contribute to problem solving utilizing appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Understand costs associated with producing cups and use this information to drive decision making.

Requirements

  • Completion of Industrial Maintenance Degree or certificate preferred.
  • Formal manufacturing maintenance education and/or 3 years of related manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrates proficient mechanical/electrical skills (Robotics skills preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand complex instructions, prints, flowchart, block diagram, and schematics.
  • Ability to competently use and understand precision testing and diagnostic equipment.
  • Safety conscious and have the ability to perform in an emergency setting.
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft applications and PeopleSoft.
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
  • Ability to spend significant time standing on the manufacturing floor with some frequency of computer work.

Benefits

  • Pay starting at $35.80 per hour.
  • The employee will move to a higher rate of $37.60 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.
