About The Position
The Maintenance Technician position at Stabilus is a critical role within our U.S. Headquarters located in Gastonia, NC. As a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers, we cater to a diverse range of industries including automotive, office furniture, solar technology, and medical technology. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all types of production equipment utilized in the manufacturing of gas springs. This position is situated in a highly automated and fast-paced production environment, necessitating quick and efficient responses to breakdown requests. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively notify production supervision regarding the status of repairs and the requirements to restore machinery to operational status. Qualified candidates will possess strong troubleshooting skills and a comprehensive understanding of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and electronics, including PLCs and control circuits. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as the shifts operate on a 3-2-2-3 pattern, meaning three days on, two days off, two days on, and three days off, with training conducted during day shifts. The Maintenance Technician will also be expected to create and respond to repair work orders, perform electrical and mechanical repairs, support preventative maintenance efforts, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental codes. Daily inspections of assigned equipment and maintaining accurate maintenance records in SAP-PM are also key responsibilities.
