Working as a critical player within a maintenance team, provides maintenance support to the achievement of set production targets, machine and equipment availability and efficient operations, and customer expectations by following standard operating procedures with continual focus to your personal safety and the safety of your co-workers, and the quality of product produced being the guiding principles of your behaviors and actions.

  • Understand and safely follow all department standard operating procedures, as either in training or certified as a Maintenance Technician within either facility.
  • Openly and respectfully question trainers, leads, and supervisors to gain understanding when there is question or concern to operating safely and/or impact to product quality.
  • Assuring equipment and machinery is in good working order.
  • Maintain safe and efficient operation of equipment through performance of scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
  • Troubleshooting, adjusting and/or performing equipment repairs, within set specifications, as required.
  • Control machine downtime by quickly liaising with production personnel on machine operating concerns.
  • Adhere to all ISO environmental and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work area by following set cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
  • Be compliant in all safety, environment and health processes and procedures, including preparing equipment for repair or adjustment through proper lock out/tag out (LOTO), wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining, and safely storing PPE, and submitting to periodic personal testing and monitoring.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Advanced education, such as but not limited to, a 2-year technical degree or certification, preferred.
  • Technical education or on the job training in electronical/electronic or mechanical technology.
  • Proficient in Allen Bradley, programmable logic control (PLC) and factory talk panel view software, and Fanuc robot controllers and servos.
  • Displayed ability to perform standard maintenance tasks typically obtained through no less than three (3) years of experience as a mechanic.
  • Ability to remove broken bolts from equipment without damage.
  • Ability to use a volt meter to locate a blown fuse.
  • Ability to use a meg-ohmmeter to check for shorted motors or bad electrical wiring/heaters.
  • Basic understanding of Chillers, cooling Towers, Bag Houses and Air Handler Operations.
  • Proficient use of cutting torch, stick, tig, and mig welder.
  • Ability to cut, thread, and install piping.
  • Understand, support and work within a Preventative Maintenance system.
  • Properly install and program VFD.
  • Identify electrical components on a schematic by their symbol.
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of PLC inputs and outputs.
  • Ability to identify, remove, and replace bad bearings, gears, chains, sheaves, belts, and sprockets.
  • Ability to properly align belt sheaves.
  • Ability to rebuild electrical pumps, solenoid valves, diaphragm pumps and other components that are replaced or rebuilt.
  • Ability to install basic conduit and electrical runs as directed.
  • Ability to identify faulty pneumatic valves and cylinders using schematics.
  • Displayed ability to do basic math - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
  • Displayed ability to read and write for understanding and interpret instructions and manuals, drawings and schematics, and standard operating procedures.
  • Possess or as soon as is practical able to obtain a forklift operator license.
  • Ability to be qualified for safe and compliant use and maintenance of assigned and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
