About the position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pneumatic/electrical systems within the facility. This role requires a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Perform minor maintenance of equipment.
• Work with outside contractors for repair or maintenance tasks.
• Lay out, install, adjust, and maintain electrical equipment such as wiring, motors, and PLCs.
• Diagnose and remedy electrical issues to prevent production shutdowns.
• Determine necessary repairs and reassemble machines as needed.
• Inspect machinery at regular intervals to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment as necessary.
• Perform other assigned tasks as directed.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in a technical discipline or 5 years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to work from drawings, manufacturer specifications, and wiring diagrams.
• Proven knowledge of two or more specific maintenance trades such as electrical or mechanical.
• Technical knowledge of automated production machine equipment and maintenance.
• Experience with slitting and coating processes is preferable.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call requirements.
• Ability to wear respiratory protection as needed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in maintenance for at least 1 year is preferred.
