About the position

The Maintenance Technician role in Aurora, IL, is responsible for maintaining and repairing Injection Molding machines to ensure optimal production efficiency. This full-time position involves troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and fabricating machine parts as needed. The technician will work on reducing machine downtime and changing over machines for different products.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all facets of Injection Molding machines.
• Complete work orders related to machine repairs and/or preventative maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot equipment and repair machines.
• Design, engineer, and fabricate machine parts as required.
• Reduce downtime of machines to support production demand.
• Change over machines to other products.

Requirements

• Experience in injection molding machine repair required.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
• Experienced in electrical, process, pneumatic, and automation, with a base PLC knowledge/troubleshooting.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to read mechanic and pneumatic drawings.
• Knowledge of auxiliary equipment - hydraulics, mold temperature controllers, hot runner controllers, sprue pickers, robots.
• Mold setup experience.
• Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights.

Nice-to-haves

• 2 years of experience in plastics injection molding (Preferred)
