The Maintenance Technician position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision. This role involves all phases of maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems such as fabricating, welding, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and performing required preventative maintenance. The technician must understand the mill flow and mill schematics, maintain all equipment in good working condition, and follow the preventative maintenance schedule. Responsibilities also include performing routine services, troubleshooting and repairing all mill equipment, maintaining a clean and orderly work area, assisting personnel on special fabrication and construction projects, and conducting daily greasing and oiling of plant equipment as needed. The technician will diagnose and replace equipment parts with little or no direction, communicate effectively with operators and management, and adhere to safety protocols. Attendance at regularly scheduled safety meetings is required, and the technician may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
