About The Position

Maple Leaf North, a mobile home community located in Canton, MI, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This full-time position is essential for performing routine and preventative maintenance, rehabilitation, and landscape work to ensure the physical integrity and aesthetic appeal of the community. As a division of Zeman Homes, we pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of community appearance and resident satisfaction. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that our community remains presentable and inviting, adhering to Zeman's Community Appearance standards. In this role, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for inspecting and completing routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities, streets, and vehicles. This includes rehabbing and maintaining used and leased homes, ensuring that common area lawns are manicured appropriately, and regularly performing lawn care services to maintain flower and shrub beds. The technician will also be tasked with cleaning and maintaining community buildings and the maintenance garage, as well as maintaining vacant sites. Additionally, the role involves performing various plumbing tasks and removing snow from community streets, parking lots, and building entrances during winter months. The ideal candidate will have previous grounds and maintenance experience, with a strong ability to endure seasonal temperatures as the job requires constant outdoor work. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are essential, along with general knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance. Proficiency in operating various hand tools and power equipment is required, as well as the physical ability to walk, climb, stand, sit, and lift up to 50 pounds. Excellent customer service skills are a must, as the technician will be interacting with residents and addressing their needs. Availability to respond to community needs during non-business hours is also necessary, ensuring that the community is well-maintained at all times.
