About The Position
As a Maintenance Technician at FirstService Residential, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all mechanical systems and equipment are operational and properly maintained. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the common areas of the property in a clean, aesthetically appealing, and disinfected condition. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues, as well as a commitment to safety and quality service. You will routinely walk the floors, including the roof, checking for problems such as lights that are out and reporting back to supervisors. It is essential to maintain a good working relationship with building staff and to follow all safety precautions while performing your work. In addition to routine inspections, you will be responsible for painting common areas and performing touch-ups as needed. You will complete daily work orders as scheduled and maintain assigned equipment in good working condition. The role also involves performing minor maintenance replacements and repairs in various areas, including carpentry, electrical work, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, painting, and flooring. You will need to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment at all times. Proper utilization of new equipment and adherence to safety protocols is critical before using any tools or machinery. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and has a strong commitment to customer service. You will be expected to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. The work environment can vary, and you may be required to work in different conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain. Your ability to lift heavy items and navigate the property quickly will be essential to your success in this role.
