About The Position

Jeff Temps, Jefferson's in-house temporary service, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support a temporary need for Facilities Services in Bucks County. Performs a variety of carpentry duties in and around the hospital’s property and grounds, including the construction, installation and repair of structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard. Responsible for ensuring all work is performed in accordance to local building codes. Performs preventive carpentry and other maintenance work as assigned in order to keep hospital running smoothly, including but not limited to: adding floors and steel wall structures, painting, and identifying and resolving regulatory compliance deficiencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education and /or training required
  • Previous related experience preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Trade or vocational school graduate with courses in blueprint reading, mechanical drawing, mathematics, carpentry, and woodworking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson
  • Constructs, installs, finishes and maintains structures such as partitions, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, equipment, furniture, and other parts of the hospital building to keep appearance and hospital in top condition.
  • Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives; works on top of stilts, ladders, and the top beams of buildings.
  • Prepares layouts of rooms and/or areas for renovations using blue prints, sketches, or verbal instruction.
  • Takes measurements and calculates the size and amount of material needed. Cuts, shapes and smoothes lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements.
  • Insures all carpentry work, as related to other trades, are completed as per written and/or verbal instruction.
  • Completes rounding to identify and resolve regulatory compliance deficiencies.
  • Assists with or performs other maintenance needs as directed.
