About The Position

Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine and preventative maintenance and repair manufacturing and fabrication equipment, including CNC Laser Cutting and CNC Turret Punch Press equipment, Robotic Welding equipment, Automated Material Handling equipment, and Automated Powder Coat Painting equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma; associate degree in electrical technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of in a maintenance role
  • Must be able to efficiently and effectively use a computer, CMMS and related software related to record-keeping and machine troubleshooting/maintenance.
  • Strong mathematical ability is essential.
  • Must be self-driven and able to drive organizational change
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be willing to learn and perform with minimal direction
  • Must have mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Must have basic computer skills: Microsoft Suite
  • Must be fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have manual dexterity.
  • Ability of strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair low voltage (12 v DC) - high voltage (480 v AC 3 Phase) electrical systems.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Ability to work long hours and weekends.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, industrial machines, digital cameras, phones, scanners, tools, and controls in a safe manner.
  • Ability to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Reading assembly drawings, schematics, and equipment layouts.
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical circuits. (occasional)
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing control devices.
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing hydraulic equipment, circuits and components.
  • Maintaining, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and replacing pneumatic systems.
  • Must be able to look up parts from equipment drawings, schematics and parts lists.
  • Must be able to understand our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and be able to conform to our work order procedures.
  • Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Requires working with a wide variety of other job groups and involves working around traffic, heights, electricity, hydraulics, and heavy equipment including moving parts.
  • Assisting crew members and work in team environment.
