About The Position

We are currently looking for a Day Shift Maintenance Tech to be based out of the Weatherford location. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, the Maintenance Technician I/II primary focus will be to support production and quality by ensuring proper operation of equipment. This will include performing preventative maintenance on machinery, locating root cause of problems in a safe and efficient manner to reduce downtime, and being able to operate power equipment and tools. Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform all work in a safe, controlled manner, following all safety rules and best practices. Respond with urgency to any uncontained discharge of contaminant by stopping leaks, making repairs, and cleaning spills. Perform preventive maintenance on all types of equipment to ensure reliable operation of plant facilities, systems, and machinery. Conduct routine rounds throughout shift to detect deviations in system and equipment function to maintain optimal performance. Make effective repairs by identifying root-cause of problems instead of bandaging repeat symptoms. Able to troubleshoot and repair the following equipment: Material conveyance system (blowers, baghouses, airlocks) Plant water system (pumps, chillers,) Reclaim system (grinders, shakers) Pneumatic system (compressors, cylinders, air motors) Extrusion process equipment (extruders, spray tanks, pullers, saws, bellers) Basic electrical understanding (heater bands, motors, solenoids) Belt/pulley driven equipment Gearboxes Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Attend required training sessions, wear the required safety equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and other safety equipment that might be required for certain jobs or tasks. Operate forklifts, hoists, cranes, power tools, and hand tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum educational requirement is high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be adaptable to changing priorities in a work environment with multiple competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events in a calm and logical manner.

  • Must have experience with installation and repair of machinery.
  • Must have good understanding of basic math required for quick and accurate calculations.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
