This role will focus on the completion of preventative and corrective work orders and documentation as directed by the Facility Manager, while providing outstanding customer service experience. The Maintenance Technician is a team player that maintains a high level of professionalism with tenants and coworkers.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service to effectively communicate with management and tenants.
  • Apply, read, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Dependable, punctual, present a professional appearance, and consistently adhere to Company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritization skills with work schedule and follow-up on assignments in a timely manner.
  • Flexible to assist a variety of projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Able to understand and carry-out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to resolve issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must possess high school diploma or GED required.
  • Must have valid driver's license and clear driving record.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, possess hand and finger agility, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, climb, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to regularly work in outdoor weather conditions and potentially be exposed to cold, wet or humid conditions.
  • Will be required to wear ear plugs and eye protection provided by facility management to be worn when operating equipment such as weed eater, leaf blower, chainsaw, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including early morning or late evening.
  • Responsible to assist with preventive maintenance of buildings as directed by Facility Manager.
  • Perform a wide range of day-to-day general building maintenance tasks.
  • Perform all service requests in a timely manner applying a sense of urgency when appropriate and minimizing open-ended service maintenance issues.
  • Properly maintain tools and equipment.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform special projects or duties as directed by Facility Manager or Property Management.
  • Maintain litter-free properties by removing debris, sweeping, blowing and pressure washing common areas.
  • Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.
  • Aware of all locations of power, water and gas turn-offs, plumbing cleanouts, fire extinguishers associated with each property.
  • Assist in monitoring all work performed by outside contractors.
