About The Position

Maintenance Technician Position Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, optimizing equipment performance, and ensuring production lines operate safely and efficiently. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, install and modify equipment, fabricate components as needed, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the facility.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing equipment, including ovens, mixers, conveyors, high-speed production lines, and packaging equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations
  • Experience with fabrication, machining, and equipment modification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • PLC Troubleshooting Skills
  • Creating Preventive Maintenance Plans
  • 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair assigned production and facility equipment
  • Respond quickly to mechanical and electrical issues to keep production lines running as a top priority
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
  • Identify sources of waste and recommend improvements to reduce downtime or inefficiencies
  • Fabricate and machine parts or equipment as needed
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including work on HVAC systems, compressed air systems, and boiler equipment
  • Modify, repair, and install piping systems, including vacuum and compressed air lines
  • Perform sheet metal work, including forming, assembling, and installing guards, chutes, conduits, and related components
  • Remove outdated equipment and assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery
  • Collaborate with management and vendors on equipment modifications and performance improvements
  • Maintain tools and testing equipment, ensuring proper use and calibration
  • Provide technical support and training to operators and staff on new or modified equipment
  • Respond to internal service calls and ensure proper follow-up and resolution
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal stakeholders regarding equipment status and repairs
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Comply with food safety, sanitation, and quality management system requirements
  • Support food safety initiatives that protect product quality and brand integrity
