Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Mechanical Manufacturing team in Huntsville, Alabama. Daily job tasks consist of performing preventative Maintenance on Milling machines and lathes utilizing Fanuc and Siemens controls. Requirements

  • Candidates must possess a High School diploma/GED with less than 1 year of prior experience in maintenance on CNC Mill, Lathes and Electron Beam Welding.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
  • Candidate must be able to work overtime when required.
  • Applicant must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 1st shift.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset.
  • Safety awareness and good communication.
  • Background in operating CNC equipment.
  • Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain daily/weekly Oil and coolant levels in CNC Mill, Lathes and Electron Beam Welders.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce machine breakdowns.
  • Log maintenance work and report issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
  • Help repair mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic systems on CNC lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
