About The Position

RHF’s Corporate Headquarters , located in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Part-Time 20 hours a week Maintenance Technician. The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for the routine upkeep, cleanliness, and functionality of the building’s exterior, interior, and roofing systems. This role ensures that all areas of the facility are maintained in accordance with corporate standards for safety, appearance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of building or facilities maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform high-reaching or rooftop tasks (with safety precautions).

Responsibilities

  • Building Exterior Maintenance Conduct daily exterior inspections of the property, including planters, monument signage, sidewalks, parking lots, and patios.
  • Collect and properly dispose of all trash and debris using appropriate tools and PPE (gloves, bags, scraper, etc.).
  • Report all incidents of graffiti (including on the Pump Building in the north parking lot) to the Receptionist immediately.
  • Empty exterior trash receptacles located at the north, south, and rear of the building.
  • Empty all ashtrays daily.
  • Clear alcoves of leaves, debris, and trash.
  • Use a blower to remove leaves from patios, entries, and other walkways; bag and dispose accordingly.
  • Remove cobwebs from entrances, patios, exterior cameras, and windowsills.
  • Power wash patios, sidewalks, and entryways as needed (minimum once per week).
  • Roof Inspection and Maintenance (Performed Only When Safe) Inspect HVAC units for unusual noises, leaks, or operational issues.
  • Clear roof drains debris to prevent water buildup.
  • Remove leaves, trash, and other debris from the rooftop.
  • Clean roof surfaces systematically, completing one section per week to maintain ongoing upkeep.
  • Interior Building Maintenance Communicate daily with Receptionist regarding any special maintenance requests.
  • Inspect lighting throughout the facility; replace bulbs and fixtures as necessary.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and capable of completing routine maintenance and repair tasks independently without the need to call outside professionals.
  • Inspect ceilings for damage or stained tiles; replace them as needed and document with photos for Receptionist.
  • Dust the tops of all light fixtures in stairwells, near exits, and outdoor patio areas.
  • Remove cobwebs throughout interior spaces including corners, skylights, entrances, and exits.
  • Clean and polish lobby glass, front doors, and first-floor kitchen glass surfaces.
  • Remove boxes or clutter from designated storage areas near the back door and restrooms.
  • Perform high-dusting tasks monthly throughout the facility.
  • Restroom Maintenance Inspect restrooms regularly to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Ensure all restrooms are stocked with paper towels, toilet paper, and other consumables.
  • Check soap dispensers and refill as needed.
  • Test toilets and urinals for proper flushing and water flow.
  • Inspect faucets and plumbing fixtures for leaks.
  • Verify janitorial closets are fully stocked and organized with adequate maintenance supplies.
