About The Position

Work Type: 30 hours per week (Full-Time Benefits Eligible) Decatur Village with 43 units, located in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania, is a senior apartment community proudly managed by National Church Residences—the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing, serving over 46,000 seniors across 360+ communities nationwide. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician who shares our passion for advancing better living and care for seniors! On-Call Requirement: This position requires availability for on-call duties, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • 2+ years of residential or senior housing maintenance experience preferred
  • Proficiency in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Relevant certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, OSHA, etc.) a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions
  • Valid driver’s license required

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary repairs
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical system issues
  • Maintain interior and exterior common areas, ensuring safety and cleanliness
  • Complete minor carpentry, painting, appliance, and general repairs
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  • Supervise and train junior maintenance staff, when applicable
  • Manage inventory, equipment, and maintenance supplies
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
