Responsible for the daily maintenance of commercial & residential properties, operations, troubleshooting, diagnostics, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical repairs, HVAC, Boilers and Hot Water, Fire Life Safety Systems, ground maintenance , snow/ice removal for assigned properties/facilities.

  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of commercial & residential properties, operations, troubleshooting, diagnostics, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical repairs, HVAC, Boilers and Hot Water, Fire Life Safety Systems, ground maintenance , snow/ice removal for assigned properties/facilities.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of installed systems to include Boilers, Domestic Hot Water, plumbing systems, Fixtures, Household Appliances, roofs, gutters, drains, VAVs, RTUs, AHUs, and HVAC
  • Clean, lubricate, and service a wide variety of pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic devices
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of building equipment and systems
  • Replace and repair building finishes such as ceiling tiles, door hardware, wall paper, paint walls, piping, floors and equipment
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and make recommendations to upgrade maintenance operations and/or implement savings opportunities
  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer service requests as assigned.
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning conditions, preventative maintenance, lock out tag out, log books, code compliance, MSDS maintenance etc.
  • Maintain and operate fire and life safety systems such as; Fire /Burg alarm systems, fire pumps and all related fire protection system equipment as assigned
  • Perform carpentry and snow removal as assigned
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and Company directives as related to building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Ability to use technology such as; smart phones, tablets, computers, web-based applications, building automation systems, Work Orders, BMS etc.
  • Complete all required Safety Training as scheduled annually.
  • Comply with Uniform Dress Code while working and maintain a neat and clean appearance while on the property at times other than working hours
  • Perform routine maintenance and keep records of maintenance and repair work
  • Responsible for maintaining company vehicles
  • Regular and punctual time and attendance, and adherence to The Foundling’s and your department’s specific time and attendance policies and protocol.
  • Consistent demonstrated commitment to The Foundling’s BHAG, mission, vision and values (Compassion, Dignity, Family and Community, Diversity, Excellence).
  • Adherence to The Foundling’s employee policies, Code of Conduct and applicable rules, laws, regulations or bargaining agreements. Appropriate engagement with support departments to ensure appropriate and timely hiring, performance management, investigation, discipline, suspension, and restructuring decisions concerning direct reports.   • Any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned.
  • Valid NY, NJ, CT or PA driver’s license with 6 points or less

  • 2-5+ years of related experience in a general building maintenance setting
  • Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair
  • Basic Computing Skills in Outlook, Excel & Word
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety.
