About The Position

The Production Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems associated with rubber molding equipment and auxiliary machinery. The role supports production uptime by ensuring all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Requirements

  • Minimum two- (2) year Technical Certificate from college, technical or vocational school; or 5 or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong skills in electrical (3-Phase, 480V, DC, and 24V controls) and mechanical systems (hydraulic and pneumatic).
  • Knowledge of control technology (PLC/controls/inverters), and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, electrical measuring techniques, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or off shifts as needed.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, such as motivation, delegation, ownership, leading by example, well-developed organizational skills, excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on rubber molding machines (compression, transfer, and injection types) and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures in presses, ovens, chillers, etc.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Interface with PLCs for troubleshooting and logic modification.
  • Perform PMs on injection and compression molds.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and service manuals.
  • Follow all maintenance safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout.
  • Collaborate with process engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and documentation of work completed on equipment, spare parts used, etc. using the site CMMS (Micro main).
  • Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed using the site ERP system (SAP).
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Participate in safety protocols and report hazards.
