About The Position

Responsible for the set-up, adjustment, maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment used in the production facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years mechanical experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic skills test required. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, basic electric skills, as well as the desire to continue to improve ability and knowledge of existing and new equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Must have the ability to use hand tools and trade-type tools; good motor coordination necessary.
  • Proven record of ability to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to make sensitive adjustments in equipment.
  • Must be team-oriented with the ability to work with others and without direct supervision.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the following: standing, climbing, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and stooping.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Must wear required personal protection equipment associated with the manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work in confined spaces
  • Able to climb up and down ladders
  • Must be able to work at various heights

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a food industry preferred.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, HVAC skills, fabricating, TIG and MIG welding a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Observe machines and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Assembles and test operates machine to verify correction of malfunction.
  • Adjusts functional parts of machine devices and control instruments, which includes changeover to new sizes and running adjustments to maintain maximum product and quality in supporting all manufacturing needs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks that are provided through eMaint/CMMS
  • Performs preventive maintenance checks. Record all data as assigned.
  • Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.
  • Removes and replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Must follow all GMPs, SOPs and maintain a current understanding of the regulation and requirements of the industry applicable government agencies.
  • Train new hires.
  • Other duties as assigned.
