We are looking to hire a Maintenance Technician As a Maintenance Technician at MercyOne, you will be responsible for performing routine building and grounds maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in the following areas: (carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, emergency generator, boilers, etc). Manages communications with contractors and vendors. Performs other tasks as assigned. Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and making repairs as needed. Orders parts, making notes, maintaining required documents. Performs minor repairs of functional systems. Performs and documents required daily, weekly, monthly and yearly departmental PM’s. Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not to be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (ex: wall switches and outlets; incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes; ballast; sockets; fuses; minor appliances, cords, etc) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Completes minor plumbing maintenance (ex: replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.) Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (ex: preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.). Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Performs inspection, repairs, operation, and PM’s on Boiler systems. Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Performs inspection, repairs, operation, testing, and PM’s on backup electrical generator. Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Planning and execution of any remodels or reconfigurations of work spaces (ex: moving furniture/assets, wall panels, work surfaces, storage bins, lighting, file cabinets, wiring, plumbing, etc) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space. Using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies, and hand trucks. Assesses safety at all times and outsourcing to contractors when necessary. Coordinates with outside contractors for inspections, repairs, and construction jobs. Obtains and compares quotes, prepares SBAR’s, obtains PO’s, and schedules work. Responsible for snow removal and cleaning of parking lots, sidewalks, grounds and other work areas. Including the coordination with outside vendors or entities as necessary. Assesses and ensuring the safety of employees, patients, and visitors. Monitors and records required information for infection control. For both internal performed maintenance jobs and contracted work. Maintains department records for Quality Assurance initiatives of the hospital. Schedules inspections and repairs of Life Safety Code systems (fire alarm, sprinkler system, fire extinguishing systems) Assists with equipment assembly, troubleshooting, and repairs of medical and non-medical equipment. Escalating to Support Service Director as needed. Interfaces with work order system to monitor, plan, and execute repairs and requests. Must be able to work flexible hours including on-call maintenance hours. Day-time EMS driver duties as assigned by EMS Manager.
