About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment and machinery used in trailer manufacturing. This position ensures that production equipment operates safely and efficiently while minimizing downtime. The technician will perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems throughout the facility. Job Summary: Maintenance Tech I team members are responsible for regular maintenance and preventative maintenance in our facilities with outstanding service in a safe manner and must be able to perform in a fast paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read manuals, diagrams, and technical documents.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • High School Diploma / GED, or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities in directly job-related experiences.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination with the ability to safely lift 80 pounds with prolonged periods of standing.
  • Able to work 10-hour shifts with potential overtime.
  • Willing to submit a pre-employment background check.
  • Able to work in a self-directed way to manage multiple demands of time and attention in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with welding equipment, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems is a plus.
  • Basic welding or fabrication skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment, tools, and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Repair welding machines, presses, cutting equipment, forklifts, and other production machinery.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and safety hazards.
  • Maintain maintenance logs and document completed work.
  • Work closely with production teams to quickly resolve equipment issues.
  • Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed according to safety standards and company policies.
  • Assist with facility maintenance such as lighting, building repairs, and general upkeep.
  • Order or request replacement parts and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure your own safety by always using designated personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools designed and rated for the task, complying with safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup and throughput goals.
  • Operate all power tools and machinery effectively and respectfully.
  • Read and understand work orders and work instructions.
  • Perform daily inspections on equipment prior to shift startup to ensure the safety of you and your coworkers, as well as the operational effectiveness of equipment.
  • Assist in other areas and perform other duties, as needed.
