Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine. Assists in dismantling defective machines and equipment and installing new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery. Maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains the physical structure of establishment. Fabricates and repairs benches, partitions, and other wooden structures. Knowledge of policy and procedures in the event of a Hazardous waste release, fire or explosion. Knowledge of the chemical characteristics and location of hazardous waste in the facility. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area. Overtime as required to support manufacturing. Performs other duties and assignments as directed.
