We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Maintenance Technician to join our growing team.   Starting Pay: Dependent on experience    Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm   12 Hour Continental – Rotating schedule for entire year - Work Half the Year!                     Sun    Mon    Tues    Wed    Thurs    Fri      Sat Week 1        OFF    ON      ON      OFF    OFF      ON     ONWeek 2        ON      OFF    OFF    ON      ON        OFF   OFFWHAT YOU WILL DOThe Maintenance Technician maintains the quality and integrity of high-speed packaging and end-of-line automation equipment to ensure good safe condition and operating order. Perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on electrical and mechanical systems involving production equipment. Provides technical support and hands-on guidance to supervisors and production department resources as required. Supports safety, continuous improvement, and other lean manufacturing projects.   Troubleshoots, identifies causes of breakdowns, and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment quickly and efficiently.  Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.  Installs, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.  Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.  Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.  Troubleshoot and repairs electrical equipment/systems and control circuits; and replaces faulty electrical equipment as needed. This troubleshooting element is inclusive of Three Phase Motors and Programmable Logical Controls (PLC) applications.  Must have a strong understanding of NFPA 40E standards and be capable of applying these standards in the work situation.  Electrical and mechanical installation of new and current equipment, including frequency drives, HMI, pneumatic, hydraulic, and compressed air.  Performs preventive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.   May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.   Maintains work area and respective equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows all GMP and safety regulations.  Completes daily, weekly, and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.   Support high speed flow wrappers, vertical baggers, and pick-and-place robots.  Ensure that all equipment is mechanically & electrically maintained by following a CMMS preventative maintenance program and properly documented.  Participate and ensure department is compliant with 5S and ISO audit regulations.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Lead

Requirements

  • 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fields are required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas. Any combination of related work experience.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, O.E.M. instructions and specifications.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Must feel comfortable with working in a team environment and/or independently.
  • Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his/her tasks.
  • Ability to effectively manage time. Organized with attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills for training and supporting other departments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
  • Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and peripheral
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)- Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Uniform, Hairnet, Beard net, mask, and use breathing protection devices when required.
  • Employees must be flexible in learning and working in other job functions to ensure a competent, trained workforce.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in applied electrical maintenance and/or Associates Degree in Electronics, preferred.
  • Prior work experience in a manufacturing facility. Prefer food manufacturing experience.
  • General safety, lockout/tagout, HAZMAT, scissor lift safety, electrostatic discharge awareness, foreign object damage awareness, and quality system awareness.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between facilities preferred.
