Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Work required rotational weekend on-call duties.
  • Work in high places and confined spaces. Lift 50 lbs. throughout an eight (8) hour shift.
  • Experience working with pipes, e.g.: welding, cutting, bending, threading of various materials of construction, e.g.: carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, etc.
  • Experience maintaining, replacing, repairing, and rebuilding pumps, bearings, and seals.
  • Experience with laser alignment and other precision measuring tools.
  • Experience using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or another system for tracking preventative maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel e.g.: creating and editing Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Bakelite supplied tools and equipment to troubleshoot/repair/test mechanical equipment (rotating and fixed), such as pumps, blowers, fans, valves, piping systems, working overtime, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Working with Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, and Operations to plan, procure, and document activities. Innovate and streamline maintenance systems, procedures, and equipment within the facility.
  • Conducting mechanical maintenance activities associated with the preventative/predictive maintenance program as well as repair/rebuild and troubleshoot mechanical equipment throughout the facility. Oversee or perform the installation of new equipment. Provide project support as assigned
  • Sharing knowledge with other technicians/operators and staff as it relates to maintaining and troubleshooting plant equipment
