About The Position

Animal House Wilmington is looking for an experienced handyman to join our team part time! Tasks include general building maintenance/groundskeeping, repair, etc. and working with the location manager and facilities department to keep our facilities in clean, safe, working conditions. A love of dogs is an absolute must, as you are sure to encounter your fair share throughout your day. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the building, grounds and play areas in the best possible condition, while keeping the safety of our dogs and staff first in mind.

Requirements

• Able to operate and maintain standard power operated appliances, equipment and tools
• Familiar with the application of caulk, paint, rust resistant coating and other like materials
• Attention to detail
• Able to follow safety precautions, guidelines and procedures
• Able to lift at least 50lbs
• Must love dogs—you’ll be seeing and interacting with them every day!

Responsibilities

• Perform minor fixes and repairs around property
• Minor assembly of small equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and regular quality inspections around property
• Cleaning/groundskeeping tasks to include but not limited to:
• Wiping and disinfecting hard surfaces
• Sweeping and mopping
• Pressure washing
• Raking and leaf blowing
• Gutter cleaning
