Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to perform basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and safe work practices.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of related maintenance experience preferred; healthcare or institutional facility experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all duties associated with preventive maintenance systems and safety checks throughout the facility.
  • Assist the Plant Operations Director with general repairs, troubleshooting, and upkeep of both interior and exterior areas of the building.
  • Perform maintenance and repair on plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct carpentry, painting, ceiling tile replacement, and other facility upkeep projects as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in rules and regulations affecting maintenance operations, including compliance with OSHA standards and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Report to work in a clean and neat uniform and demonstrate dependability, professionalism, and safety awareness at all times.
  • Assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of the following systems: HVAC and refrigeration systems, generator system, sprinkler and fire alarm systems, plumbing and electrical systems, elevator system, paging and smoke detection systems, and pest control and environmental systems.
  • Inspect and spot patch roof leaks as needed.
  • Repair or replace fencing and gates as necessary.
  • Perform regular checks of exterior lighting for functionality and safety.
  • Remove trash and debris daily around facility grounds.
  • Keep walkways and entrances clear of obstacles, snow, and ice.
  • Maintain parking lots to ensure cleanliness and accessibility for staff and emergency vehicles.
  • Inspect and touch up painted surfaces throughout the facility.
  • Repair or replace ceiling tiles, damaged walls, wallpaper seams, and flooring as needed.
  • Maintain patient care areas including lighting, handrails, door handles, furniture, call cords, and bathroom fixtures.
