By joining our team, you will share in the joy of providing “care with dignity and life with hope.” Responsibilities: Maintain the overall condition, safety, and appearance of agency facilities and grounds through routine maintenance, repairs, and general services. Perform basic household electrical repairs, installations, and appliance hookups and recognize when a licensed electrician is required by notifying the supervisor. Implement routine household plumbing, maintenance, repairs and installations. Complete routine carpentry, construction, alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings. Clean and prepare surfaces for painting. Paint interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and cabinet work. Maintain facility grounds, remove snow from walkways as directed, and perform general services. Keep records, complete required paperwork, attend required meetings, and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License
  • 4 years of progressive experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or related field.
  • Working knowledge: basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as well as to walk/stand for full shift, climb ladders, and perform other physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in conditions of extreme heat or cold as needed.
  • Positive and effective communication skills for interacting with staff, vendors, clients, and management.
  • Basic computer skills for completing records, work orders and required paperwork.
