About The Position

AIR Communities owns and operates best-in-class apartment communities across the country, managed by teams passionate about providing world-class customer service. This role is for an Apartment Maintenance Technician at a property in the Atlanta, GA area. Maintenance Teams are crucial in making apartment communities great places to live, focusing on appearance and maintenance. The company utilizes industry-leading technology to help maintenance teams efficiently assist residents. The role involves tasks from turning apartments for new residents to resolving service requests for current residents, offering new challenges daily.

  • At least 1-2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment or relevant training/education program.
  • Basic skills in two or more technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
  • A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
  • Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
  • Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience.
  • With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.)
  • May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
  • May assist with managing vendor quality and may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Additional responsibilities vary based on team member skillset, community needs, mechanical systems, and season.
