About The Position

SUMMARY: The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining all production, process and facilities equipment as required and works under the supervision of a manager and is required to comply with the standard operating procedures of Heartland Automotive. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Inspect completed work; make computations and recommendations. 2. Regular inspections of all electrical and power units of a facility. 3. Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical systems and other mechanical mechanisms and repairing the same. 4. Knowledgeable maintenance techniques, materials, tools and equipment used. 5. Knowledgeable of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles. 6. Meet all company policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements while conducting work functions. 7. Maintaining a record of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted. 8. Maintaining accurate completion of safety and environmental records. 9. Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by Maintenance Team Leader or Manager within specified deadline. 10. Reporting damage, defects and other issues pertaining to equipment to the team leader. 11. Placing orders for spare and replacement parts and completing all required ordering documentation. 12. Planning and executing predictive and preventive maintenance. 13. Perform lock-out and tag-out procedures when investigating equipment malfunctions and conducting repairs. Restore machine energy in accordance with established LOTO procedures. 14. Be able to perform machine set up and ensure equipment safety features are in place and functioning properly. 15. Appropriately using and handling all electrical repair and testing tools and 16. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 17. Sound understanding of using all electrical testing and repair equipments. 18. Responsible for following all hazardous waste rules and regulations. 19. Supports and participates in continual improvement projects for Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS). Education and/or Experience High School degree, diploma or a GED, with 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician. Proficient with troubleshooting in mechanical and electrical. Knowledge of PLC, control system maintenance and total maintenance preferred. Basic knowledge of Robotics a plus. Must be familiar with and have a working knowledge of equipment, ability to select appropriate materials and operating equipment to complete work, including the ability to use hoists, cranes, hand and power tools, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments. Have experience with maintaining production machines. Injection Molding maintenance experience is preferred. Health and Safety Conditions: Know all potential work and environmental hazards. PPE Requirements: Safety glasses and any other required PPE in accordance with the SWI for the jobs you may be doing. Interpret simple to complex blueprints and schematics. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no direct reports. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret company policies and procedures, work standards and technical instructions. Ability to write reports and effectively communicate with other managers, supervisors or engineers. Must be able to speak and read English. Being bilingual is a plus. Requirements

  • Electrical Knowledge
  • High School degree, diploma or a GED, with 2 – 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician.
  • Proficient with troubleshooting in mechanical and electrical.
