About The Position

The Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift) performs preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance to support safe, reliable plant operations. This role helps maximize production efficiencies, minimize downtime, and uphold safety and quality standards. This position requires flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on‑call rotation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years industrial maintenance experience
  • High school diploma or vocational school equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
  • Experience using electrical test equipment
  • Knowledge of basic machine functions and operating sequences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • English required; Spanish preferred
  • Must supply own hand tools
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; CMMS experience preferred
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT)

Nice To Haves

  • Technician‑level formal education
  • Training in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics
  • Basic PLC and drive training
  • Food processing or dry powder filling experience
  • Knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and NFPA 79
  • Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with AC/DC motor PMs, wiring, and troubleshooting
  • Servo drive and motion control experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machines such as blenders, scales, fillers, cappers, check weighers, palletizers, stretch wrappers, AC/DC motors, and drives.
  • Complete PMs and work orders in the CMMS system (SAP preferred).
  • Conduct equipment inspections and recommend corrective actions.
  • Serve as first responder to equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with production teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
  • Mentor maintenance trainees and operators.
  • Assist in ordering replacement parts through the Parts Clerk.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and Daily Management systems.
  • Self-train on and operate production equipment as needed.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Follow LOTO, Arc Flash, and PPE requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and GMP/HACCP standards.
