About The Position

In this position, your chief responsibility is to maintain the condition and functionality of our cotton warehouses. This role supports operations by maintaining the facility and ensuring the safe operation of material handling equipment, with a focus on fire safety compliance and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, electrical systems, plumbing, and basic carpentry. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
2+ years in warehouse maintenance.
Knowledge of fire extinguishers/suppression.
Valid license to operate a forklift.
Basic computer skills for maintaining service logs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be well- organized and have the ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly PM inspections on forklifts.
General facility maintenance: lighting replacements, repairing docks, miscellaneous minor repairs and keeping the warehouse free of hazards.
Operate forklifts to move equipment for maintenance purposes as well as assist in day-to-day operations.
Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.
Perform routine maintenance around the building including plumbing, electrical, and structural issues.
Maintain the building HVAC equipment.
Monitor and maintain all fire safety systems (sprinklers) to ensure compliance.
Repair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures, including sprinkler systems.
Work on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
Handle basic repairs that require general carpentry knowledge.
Provide lawncare and general upkeep of entire property.
Paint the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
Plan and schedule repairs with outside vendors as needed.
Maintain the maintenance records for equipment.
Maintain equipment and tools needed for repair work.
Maintain safe and clean working environment.
