About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role requires proficiency across multiple maintenance disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. The technician supports continuous production by performing preventive maintenance, responding to equipment breakdowns, and assisting with the installation, alignment, and optimization of new and existing equipment. Work may include servicing production machinery, repairing mechanical and electrical systems, performing fabrication and welding tasks, and maintaining building systems such as floors, piping, and structural components within a foam manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Technical degree, trade school certification, or a minimum of 1+ years of experience in an industrial/commercial manufacturing maintenance environment
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on industrial equipment
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, plumbing, gear boxes, pumps, motors, exhaust/fans, building maintenance/carpentry
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems including, 3 phase 480v, 240v, motor controls, PLC’s, installation of machinery to code, computer cables, control panels, sensors, schematic reading
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical/mechanical drawings
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company and regulatory standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to urgent maintenance needs
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain certification for scissor lifts, boom lifts, and forklifts
  • Willingness to work overtime and respond to emergency call-ins as needed
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain OEM industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Electrical Skills: Competence in basic electrical troubleshooting, including motors, sensors, switches, and control circuits
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ability to perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective corrective actions
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to read, interpret, and follow schematics, blueprints, manuals, and maintenance procedures
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and safe work practices
  • Equipment Installation & Alignment: Skill in installing, aligning, balancing, and testing new or repaired equipment
  • Manual & Power Tool Proficiency: Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a production-driven environment
  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively with production and quality teams to support manufacturing goals
  • Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting issues, documenting work, and sharing technical information
  • Adaptability: Ability to learn new equipment, technologies, and processes in a continuously improving manufacturing environment
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling for extended periods
  • Frequent use of hands and arms to handle, install, position, and manipulate tools, equipment, and materials
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around moving machinery
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to safely operate hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions and maintain physical stamina throughout the work shift
  • Visual and auditory ability to identify equipment issues, read gauges and displays, and respond to alarms or verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and industrial odors associated with foam production
