About The Position

WE ARE SEEKING A SKILLED AND RELIABLE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN TO JOIN OUR TEAM. THIS POSITION FOCUSES ON PERFORMING GENERAL MAINTENANCE TASKS WITH AN EMPHASIS ON BASIC ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING REPAIRS. THIS ROLE REQUIRES A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF VARIOUS MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING DIAGNOSING, MAINTAINING AND REPAIRING BUILDINGS, EQUIPMENT, TROUBLESHOOTING, AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or an equivalent such as a GED.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  • A minimum of one year sobriety if in recovery.
  • Reliable access to a personal vehicle is required to perform the essential job duties related to regular attendance.
  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door or wall repair.
  • Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
  • Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
  • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
  • Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
  • Repairing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks and make necessary repairs before they become urgent.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as patching walls, fixing leaks, replacing light fixtures, and repairing doors and windows.
  • Ensure trash and debris are removed promptly.
  • Ensure there is a Facility ticket number for each request for maintenance service.
  • Repair broken locks, windows, and damage to walls and building structure immediately.
  • Regulatory Compliance: The maintenance technician must strictly comply with and ensure staff compliance with all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Professional Behavior: Strictly maintain professional boundaries following established limits and guidelines for appropriate behavior with participants, ensuring a safe and ethical environment by clearly separating the professional role from personal interactions, and protecting the participant’s privacy and dignity. Boundaries typically include but are not limited to personal disclosure limits, physical touch restrictions, and clear communication about the professional nature of the relationship.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations to CLARE|MATRIX standards, OSHA, CAL-OSHA, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Must gain and maintain knowledge of the Operations/Facility contracts to ensure compliance and utilization.
  • Communication: Work in collaboration with your team members. Collaborate with the Operations Manager, facility assistant, and maintenance technician. Respond to staff and participants in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams including, but not limited to, department heads, managers, directors, and senior management.
  • Staff Meetings: Participate in staff meetings, one-on-one meetings with supervisors, and other meetings as required.
  • Mission and Values: Maintain knowledge, understanding and application of CLARE|MATRIX’s mission, vision, and philosophy. Builds staff accountability through performance to the company’s mission and values.
  • Education and Training: Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and certifications as applicable.
  • Contribute to a healthy work environment by always cultivating and maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
