About The Position

At Kalmbach Feeds we want our Maintenance team to enjoy competitive pay with a full line of benefits including three weeks paid time off in the first year! We are looking for a weekend, day shift team member to join our team Friday-Sunday on a 12-hour shift schedule. The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment and facilities according to safety and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the facility’s business goals and objectives. The maintenance team requires someone with a high level of autonomy and requires a self-starter with a positive and proactive approach. The successful candidate must work effectively with all departments, management and employees.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years general maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to work on raised platforms and high area
  • Must be willing to work scheduled daily shift and weekend rotation, call-in, and overtime as required.
  • Will be required to pass pulmonary testing to wear a full-face respirator as infrequently needed.
  • Must perform duties in a work environment that is not HVAC controlled, dusty, with some outdoor work required.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must having a valid driver’s license with no suspensions
  • Must be capable to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and aerial man lifts.
  • Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.
  • Basic welding experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Safety/OSHA knowledge.
  • At least 5 years general maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • PLC troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to read electrical prints.
  • Ability to install, diagnose, repair, wire and maintain a variety of production equipment and buildings.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, replace, remove, and/or modify manufacturing structures and equipment to correct feed manufacturing issues of a mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or structural nature.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of all work performed in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (e.g. lubrication, inspection, etc.) for feed manufacturing structures and equipment.
  • Maintain work area, tools, parts, and equipment in a clean and organized manner for the purposes of safety, efficiency, and appearance.
  • Perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled workers including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, which require the safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
  • Demonstrates sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to distinguish priorities and develop a plan to minimize downtime in key areas.
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization including shift-to-shift transfer of knowledge/information, peers, production personnel, and management.
  • Any other corrective, preventative, or predictive maintenance functions or duties as assigned.
