About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure efficient and safe operations. This includes performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and completing necessary repairs. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certifications or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a related field, supervisorial skill required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of various tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team.
  • Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on equipment and systems according to established schedules and procedures. This may include lubricating, cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Identify the root cause of malfunctions and implement effective solutions.
  • Installation: Install new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and functionality.
  • Building Maintenance: Perform general building maintenance tasks, such as repairing plumbing fixtures, replacing light bulbs, and painting.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including OSHA guidelines. Ensure that all work is performed safely, and that equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify potential problems and implement solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seek opportunities to improve maintenance procedures and efficiency.
