What You’ll Do As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be part of our team located in Mission, TX. You’ll get to: Lead mold setting activities according to the production plan and safety guidelines. Perform a variety of tasks to install, set up, and maintain production machines and peripheral equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment including PLCs, digital and analog devices, drivers, relays, capacitors, fuses, switches, thermocouples and heating resistors. Diagnose and repair mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, cylinders, encoders, actuators, rotary devices and directional control valves. Troubleshoot and maintain fluid flow systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, cooling and heating systems. Complete assigned preventive maintenance work orders according to the established schedule. Prioritize and execute corrective maintenance work orders as needed. Document all preventive and corrective maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Accurately complete all regulatory and compliance-related documentation and procedures. Notify relevant personnel regarding spare parts inventory usage and follow up on restocking as necessary. Review equipment manuals, blueprints and electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to determine test specifications and maintenance requirements. Implement equipment improvements to reduce downtimes and scrap. Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment in line with 5S principles. Support Continuous Improvement and automation projects. Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance recommended.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician; with strong skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electronic skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand electrical and electronic diagrams and schematics.
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving mechanical problems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical installations (110V/220V) and AC/DC motor fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Experience operating basic hand tools and power tools including drills, emery tools and milling machines.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Flexible schedule; must be able to work overtime and rotate between shifts as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of plastic injection processes is preferred
  • Familiarity with equipment and machines used in the plastic injection process is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Proactive to anticipate and resolve problems.
  • High attention to detail and strong self-motivation.
  • Familiarity with 5S culture and practices.
