How you’ll contribute Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment, systems and structures throughout the facility. Reports to: Director of Plant Operations FLSA: Non-exempt Essential Functions Performs repairs on electrical equipment and machinery and to buildings and facilities, including painting, plastering, carpentry, plumbing, or electrical power. Constructs and maintains building woodwork; performs a variety of general maintenance, repair, and overall construction duties in all hospital buildings. Installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments. Performs utility and structural repairs as needed, alone, or in collaboration with internal/external tradespersons. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose problems; uses hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery and equipment. Installs, maintains and repairs sinks, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures. Replaces washers, faucets and broken pipes. Completes as applicable or assists with repairs and overhaul of pumps and heat exchangers; removes and replaces coils; replaces valves and associated equipment on steam systems or boilers. Operates and maintains boilers; observes various meter and gauges and takes appropriate action for safe operation. Conducts scheduled maintenance checks; prioritizes repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations. Keeps work area orderly, clean and safe. Ensures proper care in the use of equipment and supplies. Responsible for the Hospital’s overall Fire Safety Program and is knowledgeable in current code and process documentation. Inspects, tests, and maintains records for all fire risers, sprinklers, extinguishers, fire doors, and other fire/safety-related equipment and systems. Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred Work Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
