About The Position

About Booth Manor: The Salvation Army, Reed House is a 66 single room occupancy complex provides housing and supportive services to single adults with histories of drug and/or alcohol abuse, serious and persistent mental health issues, and physical disabilities. Our services are available to single adults who have lived in Philadelphia's emergency housing programs, transitional housing programs for homeless persons, those who come from institutions such as substance abuse treatment facilities and inpatient mental health programs. Description of Position: Under the direction of the Business and Property Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and condition of Reed House. This will include a daily routine cleaning schedule of all common areas, trash removal, inspection of rooms/property, complete work orders, painting, preventative maintenance and care and upkeep.

Requirements

  • Experience in multifamily maintenance and experience involving affordable housing, senior housing, or special needs housing.
  • Must be able to keep information in a confidential and secure fashion.
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED and at least two years building maintenance experience.
  • Must be a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple changing work priorities.
  • Good verbal and writing communication skills.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
