Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Trade school certification as an Industrial/Electrician/Millwright or Industrial/Mechanic preferred.
  • Journey worker certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience as a Maintenance Technician within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating a powered industrial truck and aerial lift (testing and certification to be administered by Magna Seating Detroit).
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, electrical (up to 480 volt), PLC (Allen Bradley preferred), and robotic systems (Fanuc preferred).
  • Fabrication experience, including blueprint reading/interpretation, machining (lathe, Bridgeport, and bandsaw), and welding.
  • Ability to interpret & apply measurements in both the Imperial and Metric systems; ability to use measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and measuring tape.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read/understand ladder logic PLC systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and shop tools.
  • Basic computer skills, including e-mail management and task management software.
  • Ability to work in a team environment; good communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work under limited supervision.

Nice To Haves
