About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Maintenance Technician positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. This includes repairing and maintaining the operating conditions of the machinery and equipment, troubleshooting problems that occur in the day-to-day operation of the facility. The position requires performing work involving hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, general mechanics as well as some welding. The Team Member will also set up, adjust and break down production line machinery and complete daily documentation that is required. Tasks include standing, walking, bending, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 75 lbs) and reaching. This position can work in a hot, humid environment or cold, damp environment and slippery surfaces. Must be willing to stand or walk on hard floors 8 - 12 hours a day. The Team Member must be able to complete all required training for the job and perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have 1 year of Maintenance experience or equivalent Vocational Training/Certification
  • Needs to be able to become HAZMAT certified
  • Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends, and available for overtime
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to all employees and management to resolve mechanical failures as well as be able to read manuals in order to repair equipment safely
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • The Joslin Facility is not accepting rehires.
