About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems within the facility, ensuring optimal building operations, safety compliance, and leading a team of technicians and contractors to maintain critical infrastructure systems.This role involves leading preventative maintenance programs, coordinating with third-party vendors, and ensuring safe, efficient facility operations through hands-on technical expertise and work order management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules/shifts/areas, including weekends, nights and/or holidays
  • 1 year of experience in PC competency to include: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting parts and tools weighing on average 20 pounds, occasionally weighing up to 90 pounds.
  • Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational school, college or equivalent with a focus in the Mechanical, Electrical field or HVAC.
  • Experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
  • Experience with blueprint and electrical schematic reading.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor operation and maintain refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, ventilating, filters, and other mechanical/electrical equipment while reviewing logs to ensure proper operation and reporting problems/malfunctions as needed
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and oversee repair and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems
  • Ensure adequate inventory of tools and supplies by preparing purchase order requests, developing sources for stock materials, and performing periodic inventory checks
  • Oversee contractor activities within the building, whether representing the building or tenant operations
  • Identify safety hazards and incorporate remediation to ensure staff and occupants work in a safe environment
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory laws and guidelines related to building infrastructure operations
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) which includes belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more
