About The Position

Position Summary: Reports and takes direction from the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for performing mechanical preventative maintenance, repair, building alterations, monitoring the building automation systems, for all Building Authority buildings. Specific Duties: Performs preventative maintenance and repair for various types of HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, and all plumbing systems to include; Air Lines (Mech) Exhaust fans. (Mech) Compressors. (Mech) Water Pumps. (Mech) Security doors. (Mech) Water softeners. (Mech) Pressure vessels. (Mech) Hydraulic systems. (Mech) Emergency generators. (Mech) Chillers. (HVAC) Air dryers. (HVAC) Heat Pumps. (HVAC) Ice machines. (HVAC) Cooling towers. (HVAC) Boilers and controls. (HVAC) Air handling equipment. (HVAC) VAV Controls and boxes. (HVAC) Walk-in coolers and freezers. (HVAC) Air conditioning split systems. (HVAC) High volume air handling systems. (HVAC) Pneumatic and electronic controls. (HVAC) Pneumatic actuators, valves, dampers. (HVAC) Liebert chilled water air handling system. (HVAC) Vacuum pumps, steam condensate systems. (HVAC) Snow removal. Clean working area after assigned duties are complete. Specialty Duties: Performs preventative maintenance and repair of the smoke and fire evacuation system including dampers, fusible links, activators, and controls. (Mechanic) To assist all Building Authority departments. Comply with Building Authority policies, procedures, and safety regulations. To perform all other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Equipment Used: The Maintenance Mechanic should be familiar with equipment and tools including Welders, Drill Press, Saws, Leak Detector, Vacuum Pumps, Nitrogen and Recovery Tanks, Meg Ohm and Volt Meters, Air Compressors, Electronic Scales, Pneumatic and Refrigerant Manifold Gauges, Reading Blueprints, Inspection Cameras, Ultrasonic Microphone, Air Balance Equipment, Electronic Thermometer, Cutting Torch, Building Automation Computer, and Refrigerant Recover Equipment.

Requirements

  • EPA Certification
  • ACM Certification
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Indiana Driver’s License
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Previous experience with pneumatic and electronic controls
  • Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and platforms at various heights, safely
  • Previous experience and working knowledge with building automation systems
  • Previous experience and working knowledge with the preventative maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and various plumbing systems
  • Technical skills -the expertise necessary to perform a specific role
