Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic 1 is responsible for performing basic maintenance and repair tasks on production equipment and facility systems. This role supports the maintenance team in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of machinery while adhering to safety and food manufacturing standards. What You'll Do: Perform basic corrective maintenance tasks, such as replacing worn parts, repairing leaks, and addressing minor equipment malfunctions. Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, including basic troubleshooting of conveyors, pumps, and motors. Support Preventative Maintenance Technicians in completing PM tasks as needed. Conduct visual inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and report findings to supervisors. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols, GMP, and food safety regulations. Document maintenance activities, including work orders, parts used, and time spent, in the CMMS. Assist in the installation, setup, and calibration of new equipment. Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance. What You'll Need: High school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Basic understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment. Willingness to learn and follow instructions. Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
