About The Position

Linde Gases US (LGUS) is seeking qualified applicants for our Maintenance Technician role. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day corrective & preventive mechanical maintenance of the LaPorte, TX site. Implements safety programs, helps meet fixed and variable cost commitments, participates in reliability programs, and complies with quality system as well as governmental regulations as required.

Requirements

  • You possess a High School education, associate degree a plus.
  • Journeyman millwright/machinist experience preferred.
  • You have 2+ years’ experience in an industrial production environment.
  • You have Excellent computer skills required.
  • On-Call ability required within 24/7 operation environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Welding and HVAC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize equipment reliability to avoid unscheduled shutdowns resulting in interruption of supply to customers.
  • Use a wide variety of hand, power, and machine tools to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Follow SMP/SOPs within an ISO/QA/PSM/RMP site.
  • Disassemble/assemble rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, etc. to repair/replace bearings, gears, seals, structural components, and the like.
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and mechanical systems.
  • Safely troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all rotating equipment and associated mechanical systems including compressors, pumps, fans, blowers, boiler systems, valves, and ability to perform equipment alignments.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), plan and execute maintenance activities including procurement of parts, supervision of maintenance tasks, and completion of all follow-ups required documentation.
  • Repairs of mechanical piping systems including threaded and welded pipe systems.
  • Complete and document maintenance activities associated with predictive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Operate forklifts and man-lifts.
  • Drive improvements in productive and cost savings.
  • Effectively communicating with technicians, plant manager, plant engineers, and other support groups.
  • Working extended hours and/or weekends/holidays may be required.
  • On Call. Must carry cell company cell phone for immediate availability/questions.
