About The Position

Responsible for completing maintenance and upkeep of the facility’s grounds, buildings, and equipment ensuring the built environment is safe and functional. They will inspect the local facilities to ensure they meet safety regulations and organizational standards. This person will assist with developing and completing the day-to-day workplans and assist with facility projects.

Requirements

  • This person should have a high school diploma or the equivalent, plus a minimum of two years of work-related experience.
  • A working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems is desired.
  • A valid South Dakota driver’s license is required.
  • This person must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, including the completion of maintenance requests.
  • Monitor and proactively maintain all mechanical components including general repair of furniture, fixtures, equipment and building systems to ensure they are in proper and safe working condition according to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Monitor the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots and landscaping in an efficient and cost-effective manner, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for employees and customers.
  • Maintain an orderly arrangement of supplies, equipment, and other inventory in storage facilities, including supplies needed to maintain building, grounds, furniture, and fixtures.
  • Prepare facilities and grounds for changing weather conditions and respond to facility-related emergencies.
  • Contribute to process improvement, operational efficiency, and superior customer service.
  • Grow experience with Continuous Improvement and Lean tools and methodologies to make the applicable changes that will help the department and staff.
  • Use verbal and written communication skills to report to a diverse group of customers, managers, vendors, and inspectors on the status of maintenance tasks.
  • Document issues and solutions and provide feedback to improve processes and procedures.
  • Act in accordance with FBT policies and procedures as set forth in the employee handbook.
  • Adhere to compliance procedures and participate in required compliance training.
