JOB OVERVIEW: The Maintenance Technician takes responsibility for the daily maintenance tasks necessary to keep the plant/warehouse running smoothly and efficiently. In addition to taking responsibility for daily maintenance, the technician works together with the Maintenance Supervisor, Site Supervisors & Leaders, other Maintenance Technicians and the broader team, as appropriate, to identify ways to improve the plant/warehouse and keep production/product moving smoothly. This position requires exceptional organizational and detailed skills, a problem-solving approach, and a firm grasp of the mechanics necessary to solve the variety of maintenance tasks that come up on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, construction, or similar field
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Ability to use power tools (drill, grinder, impact, saw, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Significant Mechanical and Electrical background
  • Developed listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and detail skills
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Must be a problem-solver who uses good judgement
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift maintenance experience/training preferred or ability to obtain
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Basic refrigeration knowledge preferred
  • Refrigeration training preferred or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Basic operation and maintenance of site ammonia refrigeration system, including start up, shut down and pull down of equipment
  • Track operating parameters
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management (OSHA
  • Forklift maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure structure is secure and maintained by quality standards
  • Complete all building-related work orders, routine and preventative maintenance as required
  • Responsible for exterior repairs including fencing, windows, doors, roof, etc.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems and repair as necessary
  • Work with the broader maintenance team to complete more complicated tasks
  • Work with the production crew as needed to ensure compatibility of equipment with production needs
  • Evaluate production line processes and help identify opportunities for improvement
  • Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards
  • Work with equipment designers and manufacturers to develop a cost-effective and working production process
  • Work with contractors as needed to perform duties on projects
