The purpose of an effective Maintenance Technician is to hold safety as a value, demonstrate safe work practices, and notify anyone of an unsafe situation. This role requires working as a cohesive team, identifying problems, and recommending improvements to provide quality, on-time products to customers. The Maintenance Technician should have a passion for understanding how things work, sharp senses to locate minor faults quickly, and be an analytical, methodical thinker who can manage time to achieve department goals. The ability to maintain, repair, install, and improve industrial equipment is essential.

  • Complete Fanuc, Allen Bradley Controller and Milacron Training/Certificate.
  • Minimum three years’ experience or combination of education and experience, preferably working with industrial machinery.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting machines.
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electrical circuits, hydraulics, pneumatic, PLC and robots.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Capable of growing in knowledge and demonstrating competency in your job.
  • Concentrated diligence in performing maintenance related tasks associated with current and new machinery.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Initiative-taking with ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
  • Ability to generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings.
  • Good general ability with use of computer touch screens and written documents.
  • Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
  • Ability to maintain machinery requiring hydraulic, electrical, and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repair in an industrial setting to maintain production requirements.
  • Performs prescribed work in a safe and efficient manner and complies with applicable codes and practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation technology, make minor adjustments, reset minor robot issues using teach pendant, and assist in root cause analysis with team.
  • Maintains a strong presence on the shop floor and in related process areas to perform breakdown maintenance and to ensure that production machinery and support systems are operating at optimal levels of performance.
  • Make suggestions for machinery and process improvements or modifications.
  • Ability to do light fabrication, MIG weld, and use torch.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment, cranes, power tools, hoists, and hand tools.
  • Ability to dismantle machinery and remove/replace defective parts.
  • Control downtime by communicating with your supervisor recommending contingency measures.
  • Provide on-the-job training to maintenance trainee, new hires, and assist with new technology in the department when needed.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Always maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstation areas.
  • Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labor).
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, group leads and business unit managers.
  • Creating and continually improving upon a culture of teamwork, accountability, and trust by modeling expectations and providing positive feedback to drive desired behaviors.
  • Documenting and submitting workorder creation and workorder completion as required.
  • Gaining knowledge and keeping up to date on safety and quality regulatory notices.
  • Responsible for maintaining regular and reliable attendance and punctuality per company policies and procedures.
  • Performing other duties, as assigned.
